Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit Installation - 2019 Ford Fiesta- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster Base Plate on a 2019 Ford Fiesta. Now this is what your base plate is gonna look like when it's installed and they've done a pretty good job of keeping this in the lower grill so you're not having to drill out the fascia. You're gonna have to trim some of this, but it does fit nicely here. So we have our spot for our removable arms, our safety chain moves come out just enough without being too intrusive. And we also have a mounting point for our six pole diode wiring. Now the breakaway switch for our braking system, I did have to self tap, but I'm tapping that into the base plate. more

And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed. You've got your attachment points here, where your arms would slide in and out when you're ready to flat tow. You can simply slide in when you're ready, and then your tow bar would attach to this. It'll work with any Blue Ox tow bar, but we do have adapters available here if you've got a different manufacturer's tow bar. more

Here's what our base plate looks like installed. What's great about this base plate is that we have removable arms, so we'll have a nice clean look on the front of our vehicle when we're not flat towing it. It doesn't add any extra length to the vehicle, so it's not something we have to worry about walking into as we walk around the front of the car either.Our removable arms serve as our attachment point for our tow bar. Today on our 2015 Ford Fiesta ST Hatchback, we'll be installing the Roadmaster EZ4 base plate kit with removable arms, part number RM-524441-4. Okay, here's what our base plate looks like once it's actually been installed all the way. As you can see, it's a nice, clean look. It's tucked up very nicely behind our fascia here. The one thing that really sticks out at all is our safety chain cable attachment points here. Our arms are completely removable; they almost sit flush with the grille on the Focus ST. more

Today on this 2015 Ford Fiesta, we're going to install part number RN-524438-4. This is the Roadmaster EZ Floor Base Plate kit. The base installed, let's go ahead and install the removable arms. This tab right here will line flat on the inside. Push this in to until the ring comes out and then rotate. When it's in place, it can not come out. more

Roadmaster EZ2 Base Plate Kit w/ Removable Arms Installation - 2011 Ford Fiesta- Video

Today on our 2011 Ford Festiva, we'll be installing the Roadmaster EZ 2 Base Plate Kit with removal arms. Part number 524425-1. To begin with, we will need to raise the hood of the vehicle. Once the hood of the vehicle is raised, we will locate four tabs at the front of the fascia just above the radiator that we'll need to remove. To do this, a flat-head screwdriver works wells to slide underneath and lift up. Now we need to go ahead and work on taking the headlights out. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2014 Ford Fiesta- Video

Today, on our 2014 Ford Fiesta, well be installing the Blue Ox Base Plate with Removable Arms, part BX2622. To begin our install, well first go ahead and open the hood and start to remove the front fascia. To remove the front fascia, well need to remove the four pushpin fasteners along the front. They have a Philips head so well go ahead and screw the center of the pushpin fastener out and then remove it completely. You may need to hold the outer edge as you screw the center out. Once we remove the center portion, Ill just use a flat blade screwdriver to get underneath the outer portion of the pushpin fastener and then remove it. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Installation - 2012 Ford Fiesta- Video

Today on our 2012 Ford Fiesta we'll be installing the Blue Ox base plate kit, part number BX2622. To install the base plate kit we'll first need to remove the front fascia. To do this we'll start with removing the four push pin fasteners located along the black fascia at the top of the core support. These are plastic push pin fasteners where we'll remove the center of the fastener, or pry the center up, and then remove the fastener. Next we'll move to the wheel wells. Quick tech tip, if you cock the wheel all the way fully to one side it can make it easier to access the inside of the wheel well. more
